The Lion King

Experience the theatre event of the year as The Lion King enchants Edmonton with its inspirational story, wild visuals and Oscar-winning music this July 2 through August 2 at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

This Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation has been hailed by Newsweek as “a landmark event in entertainment.”

Make memories as you and your family as experience the phenomenon and the joy of a coming-of-age story exceptionally told. Visually stunning, technically astounding — and with a musical score like none other you've ever heard — giraffes strut, birds swoop and gazelles leap in this production inspired by the hit Disney movie.

The Jubilee stage becomes a magical Africa as the entire savannah comes to life and, as the music soars, Pride Rock slowly emerges from the mist.

A cast of more than 40 actors brings the animals to life, under the guidance of award-winning director Julie Taymor, who created the images for this show that you'll remember forever.

Elton John and Tim Rice's Oscar winning song, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, as well as Circle of Life and the rest of the score recreate the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands.
